Michael Monroe Young, 60, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away, on Sunday, November 24, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born January 27, 1964, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Ernie Young and Judy (Lowery) Whittington. Michael married Rebeccah Likens Young on June 3, 1983, in Woodlawn, Illinois, they were married 41 beautiful years.
Michael is survived by his Two Daughters, Mandy and husband Joe Bernard of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Megan and husband Sam Lord of Memphis, Tennessee; Six grandchildren, Jackson, Henry, Devin Bernard, Elizabeth (Bernard), Daniel Carson, & Dakota Lord; and a great-grandchild Mia Carson.
Michael was preceded in death by his Father, Ernie Young & daughter Jennifer Young.
Michael attended East Hickory Hill Baptist Church in Bluford, Illinois. His grandchildren were the center of his life.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A private family graveside will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, with Reverend Ronnie Mick officiating.
