A 22-year-old Centralia woman has been sentenced in Marion County Court to two years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated battery in a public place.

Aryana Morgan of North Cherry was charged with the felony count after allegedly kicking a Salem Police officer who had been called to the Moto Mart in October to a report of a woman eating food without paying for it.  Police say Morgan had exited the store and acted as if she was sleeping in a car.  When police approached, she allegedly began kicking the car and struck the officer in the process.   As part of the plea agreement, charges of aggravated battery to a police officer and retail theft were dropped.

Morgan also received two additional prison terms of two years apiece after her probation was revoked on two prior convictions.   She had been on probation for felony criminal damage to property and possession of methamphetamine.

All three of the sentences will run concurrently.
