Two Marion County congregate care facilities are now on COVID-19 outbreak status.
Marion County Health Department Administrator Melissa Mallow says a Salem facility as of Thursday had ten active cases between staff and residents and two hospitalizations. The second facility is in Centralia and currently has three staff members with COVID-19.
Overall, Mallow says Marion County and all of South-Central Illinois remain at the low transmission level for COVID-19. For the last reporting week, there were four new hospitalizations reported of residents in Marion County.
