Two Centralia residents were detained without bond following their first appearance in Marion County Court Monday on multiple charges after a search warrant was executed on their home.
43-year-old Aris Etherly and 33-year-old Jennifer Henson of the 700 block of East Broadway were both charged with armed violence, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of 1 to 15 grams of cocaine, and endangering the life or health of a child. In addition, Etherly was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and felony resisting arrest.
Centralia Police says multiple weapons and crack cocaine were seized during the execution of the search warrant. The child endangerment charge claims a pistol was left on a bed within reach of children’s toys while the home was occupied by children. The resisting arrest charge claims Etherly pulled away from one Centralia Police officer while being taken into custody which resulted in an arm injury to a second officer who was assisting.
The unlawful possession of a weapon charge filed against Etherly requires a two to ten-year prison term upon conviction.
Both had public defenders appointed to represent them. Etherly had a preliminary hearing set for December 5th and Henson for November 30th.
