The State Football quarterfinals were held over the weekend.
In Class 1a, Camp Point Central got out to a 30-0 first half lead and finished off Althoff 42-22. Sesser Valier’s season ended to Greenfield 44-16.
In 2a, Nashville missed a short field goal as time expired and lost to Athens 28-27. Shelbyville drove down and scored a late touchdown and stopped Mater Dei on a last drive to beat the Knights 28-21.
In 3a, Roxana is in the State semifinals after beating Olympia 56-30. Mt Carmel advanced outgunning Tolono Unity 56-46.
In 4a, Murphysboro got a 31 yard touchdown as time expired to beat Harrisburg 25-20. Rochester ended Breese Central’s season 49-13.
In 5a, Highland was shutout by Providence Catholic 21-0.
East St Louis won their 6a quarterfinal over Kankakee 39-13.
In 8a, Edwardsville lost to York 36-29.
