A 26-year-old Centralia man was airlifted to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment following a car-motorcycle crash on Route 37 at Church Road south of Salem Wednesday night.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say Ryan Stephen of State Route 161 was southbound on Route 37 when he failed to slow for a car stopped in front of him waiting to make a left turn onto Cross Road. The car was driven by 67-year-old Edward Carlson of Church Road in Salem.
Stephen sustained a serious leg injury. He was initially transferred by United Medical Response to Salem Township Hospital. Stephen was then airlifted to a St. Louis Hospital for treatment.
Carlson was not injured.
The crash occurred at 5:09 on Wednesday evening.
