A 24-year-old Salem man has been charged in Marion County Court with nine counts of child pornography involving a victim under 13 years of age.

Rayshawn Reams of West McMackin Street was arrested Monday by Salem Police at his home following an investigation that was conducted by a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Detective who is a member of the Crimes Against Children’s Task Force.

Detective Bobby Wallace says his investigation began after he received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of child pornography activity.   As the investigation progressed, a search warrant was obtained for Reams’ home on West McMackin Street.  Evidence of child pornography was allegedly recovered on Reams’ phone and other electronic items.

The investigation was then turned over to Salem Police who made the arrest.

Nine counts of Class Two Felony Child Pornography were filed Tuesday morning by the State’s Attorney’s office.   Reams is scheduled to make a first court appearance Monday afternoon.
