A 39-year-old Centralia man has been sentenced to ten years in prison after pleading guilty to one of two predatory criminal sexual assault cases pending against him.
Zachary Boyer of South Maple was arrested in May after Centralia Police were contacted by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services about a possible sexual assault case that occurred in Centralia. Boyer was taken into custody at his place of employment by Salem Police following the investigation. Court records indicate the victim was under the age of 13.
Boyer will have to complete three years of mandatory supervised release when he gets out of prison. He was given credit for 168 days already served in jail.
Boyer faced up to 60 years in prison on the Class X charge.
