It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Phyllis Hanke of Carlyle, who departed this world peacefully on Friday, October 25th, 2024, at the age of 84. Phyllis was born on Monday, February 26th, 1940, and spent her life surrounded by love, family, and faith. She married Donald F. Hanke on January 11, 1958, and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2009, after 51 years of marriage.
She is survived by her loving family: her daughter Kelly Isaak of Carlyle; her grandsons Elijah Isaak (Rachel) of Bartelso and Noah Isaak of Carlyle; her daughter Julie Belcher of Springfield, MO; her granddaughter Andrea Crain of Salem; her grandsons Josh Hiltibidal (Laurie) of Springfield, MO, and Matt Hiltibidal (Erin) of Mt. Olive; and her granddaughter Trisha Pann (Aaron) of Mt. Point, MO; seven great grandchildren Seth Crain and Maddie, Lili Crain, Kara Crain, Kaci Crain, Emery Hiltibidal, Wyatt Pann, and Vivian Pann; borther and sisters-in-law: Larry Hanke (Diane), Betty Fauke, and Mary Thompson; also surviving is several nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents: Sherman and Evelyn Watts, husband: Donald F. Hanke, son: Craig T. Hanke, brother: James Watts, sister: Betty Lou Watts, half-brother and sisters: Orville Lee Watts, Shirley Ann Kretzner, and Evelyn Maye Seats.
Phyllis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carlyle, where she found spiritual solace and a community of beloved friends. Her faith was an integral part of her life, providing her with strength and compassion that she shared generously with those around her. Her legacy will continue through the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit and loving nature.
Funeral Services for Phyllis June Hanke will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel in Centralia. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the Hillcrest Lakeside Chapel.
