A 19-year-old Centralia man has pleaded guilty in Marion County Court to six of ten child pornography charges pending against him.

Brent Morris of East Calumet is scheduled to be sentenced on January 17th at 1:30 p.m.  He is now being held without bond in the county jail until his sentencing hearing.

Morris admitted to six charges of having video recordings of children 13 or younger committing lewd or sexual acts on his electronic devices at the time of his arrest.  The four charges that were dropped claimed he had disseminated child pornography videos via Snapchat.  Those charges would have required a consecutive sentence on each count.

Morris was arrested by Centralia Police following an investigation that began last December when the Center for Missing and Exploited Children allegedly captured Morris transmitting a video via Snap Chat that showed a person under 18 committing a sexual act.
