Second annual Goose Creek Festival in Odin set for Saturday

The Second annual Goose Creek Festival is scheduled for nine to three Saturday in downtown Odin.

The festival is being hosted by the Odin Renewal and Development Committee at the Hubbell Warehouse on the corner of Greene and Kirkwood Streets. The event is the yearly fundraiser for numerous Odin community groups.

Odin native Sammy Snodsmith is returning to provide color commentary on all the activities.

There will be craft and flea market vendors, bake sales, and five food trucks. There will be entertainment for kids all day including free rides on the Eagle Express Train, and double slides from Kim’s party jumps starting at 10 a.m. The Odin First Baptist Church will provide a Kids Activity Corner. Pony rides will be available from Melody Yates for $5 from eleven to two.

Singer-songwriter Levi Loyd will perform from eleven to one. Contemporary Christian music will be provided by local artists starting at ten.

The Odin History room will be available for viewing throughout the event.

Other highlights include the Odin Fire Department’s demonstration of how to deep fry a turkey safely, free face painting, karate demonstration, as well as the sales of cotton candy, snow cones, apples, pumpkins, cider, candy apples.
