James W. Willis, 76, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 1:38 pm September 4, 2024, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born November 5, 1947, in Kingston, Tennessee to the late James and Ruth Willis. James was with the love of his life for 40 years, Deanna Derry. She preceded him in death on February 3, 2018.
James is survived by his stepson, Jason Derry of Saint Peters, Missouri; and grandchildren, Autumn Derry, Jakob Derry, and Logan Derry.
James was a member of the Jefferson County Shrine Club. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Per his wishes, James will be cremated and no services will be held at this time. Inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon at a later date.
