Hilda (Sager) Donoho, 87, of rural Iuka, passed into the arms of her Heavenly Father, on September 3, 2024.
Hilda was born on October 4, 1936, at home, in rural Marion County, to Archie and Versa (Shafer) Sager. She married Charles Dale Donoho on June 4, 1954, at Wells Chapel Church.
Hilda is survived by her loving husband of 70 years; her four children, Steven Donoho and wife Sherry, Nila Hawkins and husband Wayne, Arlen Donoho and wife Rhonda, and Erin Donoho and wife Regina, all of rural Iuka; eight granddaughters; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis Sager of Salem; and one sister, Barbara Daniels and husband Jerry of Chillicothe, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-in-law.
Hilda attended Byars School and Salem Community High School. She later worked at Brown Shoe Company, in Salem, Illinois. Hilda was a devoted farmwife who loved her animals and working alongside her husband and sons on the farm. When she was not actively working on the farm, Hilda loved to quilt, especially for her children, granddaughters, and great-grandchildren, making over 160 quilts. She was a faithful Christian, and a lifelong member of Donoho Prairie Christian Church, in rural Texico, Illinois.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public visitation for Mrs. Donoho and a private graveside service for immediate family will be held at Donoho Prairie Cemetery.
