It may seem a long time off, but candidates can begin circulating petitions on Tuesday to run for open positions in the March primary election.
Marion County positions that are up for election include Marion County Circuit Clerk, State’s Attorney, Supervisor of Assessments, and Coroner. County board seats up for election are the District One seats held by Brock Waggoner and Tracy Lamont Murray, the District Two seat held by Dr. Creighton Engel, the District Three seats held by Steve Whritenour and Bill Henson, the District Four seat held by Steven Bradley and the District Five seat held by David Iossi.
Marion County Clerk Steve Fox says there will be packets containing the necessary information available on the second floor of the courthouse outside room 202.
Petition filing will begin on November 27, 2023, at 8:00 am and end on December 4, 2023, at 5:00 pm. All petition filing will be in the Marion County Clerk’s office in room 202.
