Police Beat for Tuesday, August 29th, 2023

Centralia Police have arrested a 27-year-old Carlyle man for theft of a motor vehicle.  Anthony Bassett of Ninth Street was reportedly found in a car by Carlyle Police after it had been reported stolen from a resident in the 300 block of North Elm in Centralia earlier in the day on Monday.   Bassett was taken to the Marion County Jail.

Centralia Police arrested 49-year-old Tonya Pannell of South Sycamore in Centralia for criminal trespass to a residence and two counts of bond violation.

Parole agents arrested 35-year-old Jody Wooters of South Clinmar Place in Centralia on an Illinois Department of Corrections warrant.   He was later transferred back to IDOC.

53-year-old Christopher Baur of East Main in Salem was arrested by sheriff’s deputies on a Marion County misdemeanor warrant.  He posted $250 bond and was released.

Iuka Police arrested 33-year-old Timothy Pomeroy of South Main in Iuka for theft.  He was later released on a notice to appear in court.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of millings from a site on Industrial Park Drive in Junction City.  A track loader at the site reported was used to load up the millings.
