Rainfall from the early Saturday morning storms and another round of rain Saturday night drenched some areas and left little rain in others.

The Alma Weather Station had the highest overall reading of 3.55 inches of rain. The Salem Water Plant recorded 55-hundredths of an inch in the Saturday morning storms and then 2.04 inches on Saturday night for a total of 2.99 inches of rain. Readings from the Patoka and Vernon area put total rainfall between two and a quarter inches of rain to two and a half inches. The Centralia area missed most of the rain, with the water treatment plant recording just seven-100ths of an inch of rain Saturday morning and just 17-hundredths more Saturday night for a total of .24 inches.

The Illinois Drought Map issued Thursday showed all of Marion County remained in the abnormally dry category. All of South Central Illinois was in the same category, except an area north of Vandalia in Fayette County that is still listed as in moderate drought.
