Leslie Erb, 96, of Centralia, IL, was born on January 4, 1928, in Marissa Township, IL on the family farm. Leslie passed away on Sunday, August 11th, 2024 at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home, Lebanon, IL.
Mr. Erb created Airgo, Inc. His company sold aircraft, managed airports, and ran an internationally known flight school. He was a United States Army veteran and a member of the Centralia First Baptist Church and the Centralia Masonic Lodge. Les loved negotiating and selling (and chocolate cookies and milk!).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred M. and Frieda E., (Schaeferle) Erb; five brothers, Alvin Erb, Willard Erb, Clifford Erb, Ardell Erb, Mervin Erb, and one sister, Norma Erb. Leslie married twice, to Margaret M. (Mathews) Erb and Marian (Morgan) Erb, and was preceded in death by both.
Les’s remaining sibling is his sister, Frieda Feig of Marissa, IL. He is survived by a son, Ronald D. (Millie) Erb of O’Fallon, IL; two daughters, Mickie L. Erb of Pacific, MO, and Barbara A. (Mark) Lehr of O’Fallon, IL; grandchildren, Shiloh Erb (Centralia, IL), Chelsea (Brandon) Wood (Arnold, MO), Veronica (Anthony) Erb (St. Louis, MO), and Dylan (Nicole) Erb of San Jose, CA and five great-grandsons.
Graveside services will be held at eleven on Monday morning, August 19th at Biddleborn Cemetery in Biddleborn, IL
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Biddleborn Cemetery Association, Biddleborn, IL., or the Alzheimer’s Association.
