The Colt World Series held in Marion began over the weekend. Marion won their opening game thanks to a 2-hit shutout thrown by Salem junior Noah Nix in their 6-0 win over Tijuana, Mexico. Marion then fell to Youngstown, Ohio 11-3 to fall to today’s 2pm game against Chiba, Japan. The winner will play Youngstown against tonight at 8pm.
Southern Illinois won their opener 8-7 over Paderborn, Germany. They then beat Brownsville, Texas 4-3. Southern Illinois will play again today at 5pm against the winner of the 11am game between Brownsville, Texas and Paderborn, Germany.
