One driver received minor injuries in a two-vehicle sideswipe accident on the 4100 block of Cross Road south of Salem Friday afternoon.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say an SUV driven by 36-year-old Andrea Thompson of US 51 in Patoka crossed the middle of the road and sideswiped a pickup truck driven by 48-year-old Dirck Smith of Red Stripe Road in Salem.
The impact caused the mirror on Smith’s truck to break. With the driver’s side window open, shattered pieces of glass entered the vehicle and cut Smith on the arm and forehead. He received bandages for the cuts from United Medical Response and refused hospital treatment.
The crash occurred at 1:07 Friday afternoon.
