The Salem Community Theatre is hosting the annual Harry Potter Birthday Party Saturday night.
Kathie Garren is leading the group working on the project this year.
“This year the movie we are showing is The Goblet of Fire. So we are going to have a Goblet for all the little witches and wizards to put their names into to see if they will represent their house in the Triwizard tournament. Some new things we have this year are going to have this year is a photo booth by Deez Beats Entertainment for everybody to take pictures and lots of different photo ops with all of the characters. We’re encouraging everyone to come out dressed as their favorite Harry Potter character.”
Garren says doors open at 5:30 to allow interaction with the characters. The costume contest will be just prior to the movie starting at 6:30. Amy Cunningham created many of the Harry Potter scenes that are located around the theatre for the event.
The cost of the evening is $5, which also includes cookies and a poly juice potion. They feel this event is bigger and better than in past years and hope to see an even bigger crowd.
Due to sidewalk construction on South Broadway, you are asked to enter the side door on West McMackin Street.
