Terry Lee Rightnowar, 73, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:00 am July 16, 2024, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon.
He was born August 12, 1950, in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Willard A. and Ruth (Burton) Rightnowar.
Terry is survived by his sister, Ruth Ann Ellis, and Sharon Grimes, both of Mount Vernon; bother, Larry Rightnowar and wife, Bev of Belle Rive; sister-in-law, Ruth Lea Rightnowar of Smyrna, Georgia; several nieces and nephews; and dog, Roxie.
In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Willard Rightnowar, and brother-in-law, Kenny Ellis.
Terry was a member of Long Prairie Baptist Church in Belle Rive, Illinois and loved to sing. He loved dogs and will be greatly missed.
A Visitation will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10:30 am at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Mark Dye officiating. Interment will follow at Richardson Hill Cemetery in Dahlgren, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Terry’s honor to Long Prairie Baptist Church in Belle Rive, Illinois.
