Suzanne E Allen, 63, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away July 11, 2024, at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was born December 27, 1960, in Mount Vernon to the late Billy and Helen (Skroder) Steffy.
Suzanne is survived by her son, Tyler Allen and wife, Lindsey of Saint Peters, Missouri; twin granddaughters, Sienna and Riley Allen; brothers, Bob Steffy and wife, Jan, John Steffy and wife, Denise, and Dick Steffy and wife, Carla, all of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Suzanne was preceded in death by her brother, James Steffy.
Suzanne worked for many years alongside her family at Steffy’s Furniture Store. She was a past member of the Junior Women’s Club and Alpha Beta Sorority. Suzanne enjoyed going to the beach, but most of all, she cherished the time she shared with her family. Suzanne was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be deeply missed.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Friday, July 19, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Celebration of Life will begin at 2:00 pm with Mr. James McKinzie officiating. Memorials may be made in Suzanne’s honor to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
