A large crowd was on hand for the third and expanded Summer Market in downtown Centralia on Saturday.

Mimi Hawkins worked with Kristy Kuder to put together the 64 vendors who offered a variety of crafts and foods along with several activities for the kids.  She says the goal of the market is to be family-friendly.

“It’s been a great day.  There are tons of people out here and tons of wonderful food vendors and specialty vendors.  The fire department and police department are out here for the coloring contest and to meet and greet.”

Hawkins says the interaction between the police and fire department members was great and something she’d like to expand upon.  She says the inflatables and face painting were also a highlight for the kids.

Hawkins says they will work towards an even bigger event next year.
