2024 07/17 – Jeanna ‘Suzanne’ Williams

Jeanna “ Suzanne” Williams, 35, of Opdyke, Illinois, passed away on July 12, 2024, at St. Louis University Hospital.

Suzanne was born on January 12, 1989, to Michael Maloney and the late Vicki (Burklow) Maloney. After graduating from Eldorado High School in 2007, Suzanne studied Social Work at the University of Southern Indiana, graduating in 2012.

On October 5, 2013, Suzanne married Bryce Williams. They were blessed with two children, Adalynn Mae, born January 27, 2018, and Henry Alexander, born July 5, 2024.

Suz was baptized in 1997 and was a member of Scott Street Baptist Church in Eldorado. Suzanne had an amazing heart for disadvantaged children and spent her career first as a foster care case manager and last as a child mental health counselor. An avid Disney movie expert, Elvis fan, and family game competitor, Suz loved spending time with her family. An especially wonderful memory was taking her daughter to Disney World.

Suz is survived by husband, Bryce; children, Adalynn and Henry; her father, Michael (Paula) Maloney; brother, Ben (Amanda) Maloney; grandparents, Billy and Wanda Burklow, Kenny (June) Maloney; mother-in-law, Sophie (Mike) Mcmeen; sister-in-law, Lindsay (Patrick) Wombles; nephew, Ryker Wombles; and aunts and uncles, Clint and Jenny Burklow & family, Lori Murphey & family, Karen Gowan & family, Jeff Maloney & family, Stephen Maloney & family.

Suz was preceded in death by her mother, Vicki; grandmother Marguarett Maloney; father-in-law, Doug Williams; grandparents-in-law, John and Iva Marke and Henry and Donna Williams.

We thank everyone for the many prayers said during this difficult time.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 10:00 am with Mr. Ben Wyant officiating. A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Cottage Grove Cemetery in Harrisburg, Illinois. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Suzanne’s honor to Bryce Williams for Adalynn and Henry.
