Billy Charles Panzier, 92, of Woodlawn, Illinois, passed away at 9:24 a.m. on July 12, 2024, at Nature Trail Health Care in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born December 26, 1931, in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Charles and Ruth (Pittman) Panzier. Billy married Shirley (Anderson) Panzier on December 23, 1951, in Topeka, Kansas. She preceded him in death
Billy is survived by his children, Debbie Pas of Mount Vernon, Cynthia “Cyndi” Kirk of Woodlawn, and Jeffrey Panzier and wife, Elice of Mount Vernon; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Billy was preceded in death by his son, David Panzier; son-in-law, Charles Kirk; five brothers; and three sisters.
Billy proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a welder at General Radiator until closing. He was a proud farmer and a member of the VFW. Billy enjoyed fishing and gardening in his spare time. He was a jack of all trades, a loving father and grandfather. Billy will be deeply missed.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made in Billy’s honor to the Wounded Warriors Project.
