A free evening swim will be held Friday night at the Salem Aquatic Center.
Greater Salem Area Foundation spokesperson Tabatha Meador says the admission charge has been dropped for this year’s event and attendees can attend free from 6:15 to 9:15 this Friday night.
“This is an annual fundraiser for the Foundation where we gather sponsorships from area donors to be able to provide the event. This year it will be free admission. We have had many generous donors who have covered the cost so we can offer it at no cost to the attendee. There will be refreshments, hot dogs, chips and soda that have all been donated.”
Meador says the free concessions is thanks to donations from Salem IGA and Pepsi MidAmerica. The City of Salem is providing the rental of the aquatic center free of charge. Other major sponsors include Modern Woodmen and United Medical Response.
the Greater Salem Area Foundation provides financial and material assistance to residents of the Salem Community High School District who are experiencing hardships. The Greater Salem Area Foundation is funded solely on the donations of contributors and 100-percent of the profits go to the mission of the foundation.
