A fire at a Salem home early Wednesday morning was confined to a hole burned in a mattress.
Salem Assistant Fire Chief Bill Fulton says first arriving firemen and police carried the mattress outside the Bob Lograsso home in the 400 block of North Lakeview. The fire reportedly began where a hair dryer was sitting on the mattress, but the exact reason has not been determined.
Fulton says firemen ejected smoke from the home and there was no lasting damage.
The fire call came in at 4:04 Wednesday morning.
