Patricia “Pat” Ann Silvey, 76, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Highpoint Residence Memory Care in Centralia, Illinois.
She was born February 26, 1948, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Harold Walter Henne and Thelma Irene (Mulvaney) Henne. On August 23, 1969, Pat married Gerald “Jerry” Silvey and in May of 2007, he preceded her in death.
Pat is survived by her son: Jason Silvey of Centralia, her brother: Randy Henne and wife Janet of Tennessee, and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her mother and father-in-law: Millie and Boone Silvey.
Pat graduated from Eastern Illinois University with her Masters Degree in Education. She retired from the Centralia City Schools and later worked at Grace Kare with homework help. Pat had a lifelong passion for education and helping children. She enjoyed reading, caring for her cats and loved singing and listening to music. She was very active politically with the Marion County Democratic Party. Pat was a member of the Calumet Street Christian Church in Centralia. She was devoted to her family.
Per Pat’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held at this time.
