A 52-year-old Wamac man was arrested on new drug charges when being released from the Illinois Department of Corrections on Friday. Jackie Scanlon of Wabash Avenue is being held in the Marion County Jail for alleged possession of 15 to 100 grams of meth, methamphetamine delivery, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
33-year-old Christy Johnston of Maplewood Avenue in Salem was arrested for battery after allegedly striking a 32-year-old Salem woman at her home around 2:15 Saturday morning. The alleged victim was treated at the scene by EMS. Johnston was taken to the Marion County Jail where she was released after posting $100 bond.
