Ameren Illinois crews have completed the restoration of power to all of Mt. Vernon and to all but three isolated customers in separate locations in Washington County.
Statewide, Ameren Illinois as of seven Wednesday morning is still reporting 1,587 without power. Most of those outages are in the Metro-East and an area extending from St. Libory, Fayetteville into the Columbia, Illinois area.
Ameren had cut the number without power to 7,700 by seven Tuesday morning after a total of 225,000 lost power in a series of powerful weather systems crossing the state on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Ameren still had 387 in Nashville and 52 in Mt. Vernon without power Tuesday morning.
Nearly 3,000 workers have been working on the power restoration with resources called in from 12 states.
