Sandoval Fire and Police were kept busy into the early morning hours Saturday after strong winds and small hail pushed through the village late Friday night.

Sandoval Fire Chief Chad Parson says a tree fell between two homes on North Vine, going through a gable on the second floor and damaging part of the porch of the Tom and Marilyn Nicolay home and also causing some roof damage to the other home.  An entire tree fell on East Perry on the south side of the Casey’s Store flattening a car.

Power was still off to 17 residents Monday morning as Ameren works on power line issues on Commercial, East Perry, and on South Clay where a pole was broken off by another large tree that came down.

In all ten roads had to be cleared of downed trees.

A pole barn owned by Drew Milano on US 50 west of Sandoval was reportedly flattened by the winds.

No injuries were reported from any of the storm damage in Sandoval.

Meanwhile, Sandoval Mayor Pam Gelsinger was enjoying her new camper at the Boulder campground on Carlyle Lake when a large tree branch fell and punctured the roof of the camper missing her head by just about an inch.
