Salem Police say they were able to talk a juvenile boy from jumping off the roof of a downtown Salem building early Sunday morning.
Police report the juvenile used a ladder that was next to the building to climb up on the roof. He then called the police to say he was going to jump. He eventually agreed to come down the same ladder he had climbed to get to the roof of the building in the 100 block of West Main.
The Salem Fire Protection District had been called to stand by with their aerial truck in case it was needed.
The juvenile was taken to Salem Township Hospital for an evaluation after coming off the roof of the building.
The call came at 4:08 Sunday morning.
