Leslie Jones, Sr., 69, of Ashley, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Odin Healthcare Center.
He was born on January 17, 1955 in Flora, IL to Harlan and Fern (Lawrence) Jones. He married Janie Jones and she preceded him in death. He later married Camille (Barry) Jones on May 30, 2014 and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Leslie Jones, Jr. of Iuka and Nic Jones also of Iuka; two daughters, Shelly Taitt and husband, Drew, of Iuka and Jody Slover and husband, Ronnie, of Iuka; Step-sons, Nick Hirsch and fiance’, Rayann, of Woodlawn and Dalton Hirsch of Okawville; step-daughter, Jamie Biegeleisen of Central City; brother, Leon Jones of St. Louis, MO; sister, Thelma Foster and husband, Herb, of Salem; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Leona Bennett, Margie Halfacre and Linda Jett.
Mr. Jones was of the Baptist faith. He loved spending time with his family and his dogs.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Evergreen Christian Church in Salem, IL from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
