Gone to his heavenly home, Larry Dale Braddy, 80, of Walnut Hill passed away peacefully at his home on June 20, 2024, at 10 pm with his family by his side.
Larry was born to John Harvey and Alta (Loyd) Braddy on September 19, 1943. On June 28, 1969, he married Linda Susan Strong and they would have shared fifty-five years together this month.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda; sons, Kevin (Lacey) Braddy of Centralia, Keith Braddy of Centralia and Kyle (Lori) Braddy of Salem; a daughter, Kara (Dave) Hootselle of Belleville and a bonus son, Kyle (Katie) Williams of Walnut Hill; grandchildren, Alyssa, Keaton, Dylan, Andrew, Makayla, Amber and Tyler; step-grandchildren, Victoria McElroy and Alex Hootselle and great step-grandchildren, Sophia and Conner, and two sisters-in-law: Mildred Braddy of Centralia and Marlene Braddy of Walnut Hill and many nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, John Harvey, and Alta Braddy; brothers, Wilney, Kenneth, Vernon, Melvin, Stanley, Donald, Gene, and Dennis; sisters-in-law, Irene, Evelo, Wilma, Ruby, Betty and Grace; a grandson, Zachary Braddy and a great-grandson, Mercer Dunevant.
Larry was a Christian and a member of Blaze Chapel Baptist Church in Cravat, Illinois. He honorably served in the Army in 1965-1967. He enjoyed attending Woodlawn Cardinal basketball games with his nephew, Jack. He also enjoyed St. Louis Cardinal baseball games, fishing with his sons, the Braddy family yearly reunion and spending time with his famly.
Cremation rites will be accorded with a graveside service held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:00 am at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Rt 37. Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery.
