Lola Faye Sipes died peacefully at home at the age of 82, on May 16, 2023, at 1:50 pm in Shreveport, LA. She was born on January 17, 1941, in Salem, IL.

She was a Registered Nurse and worked on the Oncology floor at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis. She retired in 2004 to travel with her husband of 50 years, Marvin Sipes, and to help raise her grandchildren. “Nana” was known to all for her love of family and always being there for the grandchildren. Lola loved traveling and visited places such as California and Florida, China, Ecuador, Egypt, Europe, and Great Britain just to name a few.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Sipes, parents, Cecil and Kathryn Marie Shaw, and by her eleven brothers and sisters Emma Mae, Cora Maxine, Clyde Eugene, Madeline Lois, John Taylor, Kenneth Myron, Deloris Elizabeth, Betty Marie, Fred Cecil, Ted Lee, and Jack Wayne.

She is survived by daughter Kayla Vincent, son David Sipes and wife Anne, son Dr. Richard Sipes and wife Dr. Ashley Sipes, her four grandchildren Alyssa Vincent and Emma, Reggie, & Ryan Sipes, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at New Bethel Presbyterian Church by the Sipes Family Farm in Salem, IL on July 8th at 3 pm.
