David Uhls, 75, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024, at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, with his family by his side.
He was born May 27, 1949, in Centralia, the son of Russell Uhls and Helen (Tyler) Uhls. In 1982, David married Peggy White and she survives.
In addition to his mother: Helen Uhls of Greenville, his wife of 42 years: Peggy Uhls, David is also survived by his two sons: David Blaine Uhls and wife Hope of Walnut Hill, and Bryan Uhls and wife Dacia of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; and five grandchildren: Devin Uhls, Mallory Uhls, Jack Uhls, Owen Uhls and Nora Uhls; his nephew: TJ Smith and niece: Jenny Smith.
He was preceded in death by his father: Russell Uhls and his daughter: Ashley Uhls.
In David’s younger years, he enjoyed waterskiing, hunting, and fishing. He also had a passion for Honda motorcycles and flat-track racing. David even liked to fly remote-controlled airplanes. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather and uncle.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at noon at the Calvary Cemetery in Centralia. Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia.
