The Annual Membership Meeting of Tri-County Electric Cooperative has been scheduled for Saturday, July 8th.
General Manager Luke Johnson says the 85th annual meeting will be held at the cooperative’s main office at 3906 West Broadway in Mt. Vernon. Each member registering before the business meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. will receive a $15 credit on their August electric bill. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and members will be served coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts by 4-H students. The annual business meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will include reports of officers and the election of three directors – one from each county served by the cooperative.
In addition to the regular meeting a ‘live line’ demonstration will be presented at 9:00 a.m. There will also be children’s activities including a ‘Lineman for a Day’ photo opportunity, face painting, child ID kits, and a demonstration from the Mt. Vernon Robo Rams Robotics Team. A 1939 Model A will be on display side-by-side with an all-electric Rivian truck for members to view.
After the meeting, a BBQ lunch will be served along with Tri-County Electric’s famous lemon shakeups! Members are encouraged to complete and bring the registration form from their June Hi-Lites magazine to make registration easier.
