A well known photographer who was born and raised in Odin has donated a number of photos to the Salem Township Hospital Foundation to be used as a fundraiser.   The works of Glenna Evans will be sold to the highest bidder in a silent auction that begins on Thursday and ends Saturday in the gymnasium of the Bryan-Bennett Library at 315 South Maple in Salem.

Evans is dubbed ‘Georgia-thorpe’ by a Washington DC gallery manager as her work is evocative of O’Keefe and Mapplethorpe.   Rich color, simple lines and fluid motion are characteristic of the sensual, contemporary images of botanicals that are the basis of Glenna’s work.  She intimately explores her subjects to reveal their spirit and energy.

Evan’s archival photographs are sold in limited editions of 150 or less, inclusive of all sizes, signed and numbered.

The exhibit and silent bids will be open from ten to seven Thursday, and nine to two on Friday and Saturday.   Bids will be closed at two Saturday and will be final at that time.
