Salem Police say a 16-year-old male juvenile from Salem was eventually arrested three hours after successfully fleeing while partially handcuffed.
Police had gone to a home on South Pruyn Street after receiving information the juvenile who was wanted on an outstanding failure to appear warrant in an assault case was there. While handcuffing him, the juvenile allegedly fled on foot with one arm handcuffed.
A search of the area failed to turn him up, but about three hours later police received information the juvenile was now at a residence in the Starlight Mobile Home Park on East Olive Street. The juvenile attempted to run again, but this time ran into a Salem Police officer who took him into custody.
Police say he still had one arm cuffed.
At this time, Salem Police have not filed any new charges.
The juvenile was later transferred to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center in Benton pending court action.
