The Salem City Council Monday night will be asked to approve a ten year lease with Salem Community High School to use the Tully Park Softball fields for the school’s teams. In exchange for the lease, the high school proposed installing a new backstop and fencing to display the home team name and logo. The lease would run from March 1st to June 5th of each year. The city would retain the usage in the off season and on dates that are not being used for practices and games by SCHS.
The council will be asked to authorize Enterprise Leasing to enter orders for one one-ton truck chassis for a dump bed for the public works department and four Ford Explorers with the Police Interceptor package. City Manager Rex Barbee says they are asking for approval now due to the upcoming national fleet sale window for Ford and GM coming up in July.
The council will open bids on two surplus parcels of property and consider their sale.
The meeting begins at six Monday night at Salem City Hall.
