Kathy McKinney, age 73 of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Odin Healthcare Center in Odin, Illinois.
Kathy was born on December 1, 1950, in Salem, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil Merle and Emma (Holt) McKinney.
She is survived by her daughter, Wheat Jackson and special friend John Collier; and her granddaughter, Ren Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Eva Merlene.
Kathy was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Salem. She worked as an accountant and secretary for many years until retirement. She enjoyed reading, British history, shopping, horseback riding, showing horses, and spending time with her family.
A graveside service for Kathy McKinney will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem with Dr. Andy DeWitt officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Joshua Fund and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
