The City of Kinmundy held a ribbon cutting on Friday to officially welcome the Dollar General Store on Illinois Route 37 on the north side of town to the community.
The store, which had been open only until five nightly during its first week of operation, has now added enough staff to stay open into the evening.
Kinmundy officials now turn their attention to try and attract a Casey’s General Store to the community so residents can once again by gasoline in town.
