Salem Fire Protection District firemen quickly extinguished a propane gas grill that was close to a house early Friday night.
Firemen responded to the Daniel and Rebecca Conklin home in the 200 block of East Boone Street where they could not get the grill turned off. A dry chemical extinguisher was used for a quick knockdown before the fire could cause any damage to the home.
The fire call came in at 7:29 Friday night.
