Bond has been set at $ 2 million for a 52-year-old Jamestown man formally charged in Clinton County Court Thursday with four counts of first-degree murder.
The charges against Benjamin Bush of 610 Main Street are in connection with the shooting death of 54-year-old Gordon McClellan at the same residence just after one Wednesday morning.
McClellan was found dead in the home by responding emergency personnel. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department says McClellan’s address is unknown.
Bush has been charged with three counts of murder for intent to kill or injure. The fourth count is for murder with a strong probability to kill or injure.
If released on bond, Bush was ordered to surrender any passport, abstain from drugs and alcohol with random testing, and not possess a firearm.
Clinton County Public Defender Stewart Freeman was appointed to represent Bush. He is due back in court for his first appearance with an attorney and for a preliminary hearing on July 5th at one pm.
Jamestown is a small community northwest of Carlyle.
