The Illinois Department of Transportation is starting work early on road improvements on US 50 from Metcalf Road east of Salem to the Clay County line.
IDOT says to expect lane restrictions and flaggers until the scheduled completion date of July 15th. You are likely to experience delays. You are asked to slow down and use extreme caution when driving through the work zone. Please do not use cell phones or text.
The maximum width of vehicles allowed in the construction area is 13.5 feet.
