You will not be able to get onto Interstate 57 heading southbound from US 50 in Salem from six pm to six am daily beginning June 13th. The closure is expected each night through July 14th.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says travelers will need to use an alternate route to go south to join I-57 at a different interchange. Right now the southbound entrance ramp is open from Route 161. However, the northbound Route 161 exit and on-ramp remain closed for reconstruction.
