Wildcats Roll Roxana
The Salem Wildcats scored in every inning as they traveled to Roxana and came back with a 15-3 victory in five innings. Gavin Zimmermann tripled as part of his 2 hits day, Jalen Inlow drove in 2 runs along with Aden Susmena, Noah Nix and Drew Davis who ahd 3 hits. Isaak Williams added 3 RBI and Keaton Gullion scored 2 runs. Griffin Day was the winning pitcher going 4.1 allowing 9 hits and 3 earned with 5 strikeouts. Rhett Detering got the final 2 outs.
The Salem JV won at home over Roxana 13-6. Braden Rector had 3 hits, drove in 4 runs with 2 doubles and scored 2 runs. Ryan Detering added 2 hits and 3 RBI. Also driving in runs were Colten Starnes, Cooper Lobek, Cody Beard and Colten Shelton. Eli Lograsso added 2 hits and 2 runs and Deytin Parker scored twice. Carter Lowe was the starter going 4 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 earned with Cooper Lobek getting the final 3 innings of work.
CORLHS Wins MTC Title In Walk-Off Fashion
Christ Our Rock are MTC Champions after a great 8-7 finish to their game over Waltonville/Sesser-Valier. Down 3-0, the Stallions took a 6-4 lead on a big hit from Parker Boehne. Then down 7-6, Ethan Peltes doubled to tie the game. Omari King got the walk off double to score Peltes for the win. Boehne finished with 3 RBI with Pryor, Oelze, Peltas and King adding RBI. Boehne worked 5 innings allowing 7 hits and 4 earned with Dabney going the final 2 innings.
SC Falls To St A, Prepares For #1 Ranked Griffins Today
South Central fell at home to St Anthony last night 12-0. Jon Bursott took the loss going 3.1 allowing 5 hits and 3 earned runs. Chase Thompson and Zane Montes also worked in the loss. The Cougars could only get 3 hits, 2 hits from Colton Smith and another from Thompson.
It’s a huge game at Lions Field in Kinmundy as the #1 ranked 2a Griffins of Father McGivney bring their 29-0 record to Lions Field to take on the Cougars. This is a rematch of the 1a state finals 2 years ago, a game SC was able to win for the school’s first and only state baseball title.
North Clay Routs CHBC
The North Clay Cardinals beat CHBC 10-0 in Louisville. Alex Boose was the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing 1 hit and striking out 11. He also had 3 hits at the plate. Jesse Weidner drove in 4 with 2 RBI from freshman Trent Ingram.
