A rural Dix home received some melted siding in a brush fire that started behind the residence.
Cynthia Mooney of the Dix-Irvington Road a mile west of Dix was asleep when the fire was reported by a passerby.
The Illinois Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of the fire.
Firemen were called at 9:06 Tuesday night and were on the scene until 10:30 pm. Kell Firemen provided mutual aid assistance.
