Salem officially gets a new city councilman Monday night.  Tracy Crouch will be sworn in to replace Amy Troutt who did not seek re-election.   Mayor Nic Farley and Councilman Craig Morton will be sworn in to begin new four year terms.

The council will be asked to reappoint Jim Koehler as Mayor Pro-Tem in the event Mayor Farley is unable to attend or participate in a public appearance.

The council will be asked to approve a $127,300 bid from Winkler Constructors to remove and re-construct a portion of the Maintenance Shed.  The bid includes a 900 square foot addition to the west end of the structure and replacing some plumbing, an upgrade to the electrical panel to two panels as well as adding a gas forced air furnace.  The current west end of the existing building has standing water after a heavy rain as well as other issues.

The council will be asked to address the maximum amount allowed for city officials to spend on meals when out of town due to higher costs especially at restaurants connected to a Hotel or Convention Center.

The meeting begins at six Monday night following a 5:30 Punch and Cookie Reception for New and Outgoing City Council members.
