Edward A. Becker, age 81 of Carlyle, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
Mr. Becker was born at Scott Air Force Base on March 21, 1943, a son of the late Elmer and Dorothy (nee Fournine) Becker. He married Mary Ott on June 5, 1965, and she survives in Carlyle.
In addition to his wife Mary, Mr. Becker is also survived by his son – Michael Becker and wife Melanie; and 2 grandsons – Andrew and Nicholas Becker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Dorothy Becker, and a brother – James Becker.
Mr. Becker was an avid outdoorsman who found peace and tranquility in nature. He loved spending his free time outside, usually hunting or fishing. Ed also enjoyed making fishing lures. Mr. Becker was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle, where he served with faith and love. He retired from AT&T after several years of dedicated work as a cable repairman.
